“踢足球”的英语是什么，您一定会说“play football”——这个当然没问题，我们今天说的是另一个短语“play the football”。

Collins字典中只有“play football”，而没有“play the football”。百度上搜索“play the football”，看到如下说法，“play football”=踢足球（比赛），“play the football”=玩足球（就好像一个小孩在玩足球）。Football在第一个短语中代表“足球运动”，不可数，故不加冠词，而在第二个短语中代表“一个足球”，可数，故加冠词the。嗯……这个问题有点复杂，我们分开说一说：
